I offer tailored evidence based psychological therapies to adults aged 18 + who are experiencing a range of emotional difficulties, including depression, low mood, anxiety, low self-esteem, sleep difficulties, workplace stress, PTSD/single event traumas, panic attacks, OCD, phobias and/or adjustment difficulties.

It is common for adults seeking therapy to experience symptoms associated with both depression and anxiety (e.g. tiredness, low levels of motivation, loss of interest, sleep difficulties, negative thoughts about self/others, aches/pains, heart palpitations, racing thoughts, worry, restlessness). These difficulties often impact significantly upon day to day functioning which, in turn, can make people feel worse.

I offer a free of charge 15 minute initial screening call to briefly explore your hopes/expectations for therapy and to decide on whether or not it is appropriate to offer an assessment in the first instance. This decision will be based on whether or not I think I am the right person to help, with the right expertise and experience. The assessment process may involve 1-2 sessions. Following the assessment and formulation (understanding of the problem), I will make a recommendation for a suitable psychological therapy approach and number of sessions.

I offer psychological therapy using predominantly a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) model, with careful integration of other approaches (e.g. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) where clinically appropriate. There may be times when I feel that a client would benefit from an alternative approach to what I can offer following assessment and/or during treatment and, in these circumstances, I will do my best to guide clients to alternative therapy provisions/therapists.
I offer tailored evidence based psychological therapies to children and adolescents aged 7+ who are experiencing a range of emotional difficulties, including low mood, anxiety, sleep difficulties, separation anxiety, social anxiety, emetophobia, OCD, worry, panic attacks, phobias, PTSD/single event traumas. For younger children, the approach taken would likely involve a parent to support the process. For example, some sessions I might spend time with the young person on their own, or a parent, or both child and parent(s) to guide the formulation and intervention.

I offer a free 15 minute initial screening call to check that I am the right person to help with the right expertise and experience. The assessment process can involve 1-3 sessions, depending on the nature of the difficulties. Following the assessment and formulation, I will make a recommendation for a suitable psychological therapy approach and number of sessions. I always work in a short term, solution focused way with young people and families as I believe that supports resilience, skills and future coping.

I offer psychological therapy using predominantly a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) model that is carefully adapted to suit the child’s developmental stage and cognitive ability. Often this involves using creative, fun approaches to engage young people (e.g. linking psychological theory and metaphors to children’s interests/hobbies). There may be situations where I feel a young person and/or family would benefit from an alternative approach to what I offer following assessment and/or during treatment and, in these circumstances, I will make appropriate recommendations and support families in their search for appropriate help.
